Little Baking Break

I really haven’t felt like baking much at all lately.  I have baked exactly one time in the past three weeks.  That is shocking right?  Considering that Christmas with all the special, one-time-a-year holiday delights and recipes were ripe for the baking, I baked none.  I have been looking introspectively and asking myself “Why don’t you feel like baking, Baker at Law?”  And I have no answer.

I do not feel like doing something I really love to do.  After 3 weeks of not being able to articulate an answer, still trying to draft some back logged blog posts, and beating myself up over not baking, I have decided to embrace it.

So, I am taking a little baking break.  I may bake occasionally here and there, when I want to (I did make red velvet cake in a jar over the weekend), but I am not pushing it.  Hopefully, this baking hiatus will not turn friends into enemies when I start showing up at events without unsolicited baked goods in tow.

So what does that mean really?  I. Do. Not. Know.  That is a scary thing to admit.  I would like to promise that I will get my mojo back soon, be in my kitchen at all un-godly hours of the night, and be up to overly describing each and every morsel that comes out of my oven on this blog.  But I can’t make that promise.  If When I feel like baking again, I will be back.

So, I leave you with a few pictures of the last few things I baked/made and I just never got around to blogging about.

I hope your 2013 has started-off great and that there is only more greatness ahead!
